As your child’s school counselor, the most important part of my job is advocacy. I ensure that students feel safe and are comfortable enough to take academic risks. My role is to maximize student learning potential by supporting each scholar's emotional well-being, personal/social development and academic progress. I provide various services through multiple programs, parternships and resources. I look forward to working with your family because it truly takes a village to raise a child.

The following are provided by the counseling program at Mallard Creek ES:
- Short term individual counseling. Typically, School Counselors provide 2-6 sessions about school related problems. I will coordinate appropriate times with your child’s teacher for counseling services. Further recommendations or referrals may be provided when the need for further counseling is appropriate.
- Short term small group counseling. Various groups are facilitated throughout the year. Groups vary in topic and are typically in session for six weeks. Selection of group candidates is determined generally by staff recommendation, student needs and the needs of their peer group.
- Classroom guidance lessons. Classrooms are visited in order to deliver guidance lessons and/or activities for personal/social, academic and career success. Topics include, but are not limited to conflict management, anti-bullying, career readiness, and academic success.
- School Counselors work collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers to help scholars who may be struggling with academic concerns, behavior, social, emotional, and/or health concerns that affect the student's academic performance.
- I also coordinate referrals to outside agencies as deemed necessary for students and their families.
